Serve Day 08

On Saturday July 26, many churches in Orange County participated in the annual Serve Day, which provides much need support to schools, parks, organizations, etc. Serve Day was started by Rock Harbor Church in 2000 as an effort to get out of the church and into the community. This year over 45 churches participated as partners in this day of outreach.

Birth Choice Health Clinics were supremely blessed by this event, as we had a Serve Day Project group at each of our Clinics. We are so thankful for all the work done, and we are amazed by the generosity of all the people who gave their time (and energy!) to help our clinics.

At our Placentia Clinic a team of wonderful workers came from the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. This young team took on the huge task of painting the entire clinic and assembling some new furniture for us. What impact their hard work made… our clinic looks brand new!

In Santa Ana, a team of handy men and women joined us from Calvary Church Santa Ana. This large team painted the medical exam room, assembled cabinets, sorted diapers, and even distributed fliers for us. What a day of ministry! Our clinic and our administrative offices are gorgeous!

Things were shaking in Irvine, as we were joined by a team of young adults from Rock Harbor. This group of go-getters assembled water bottles with our “Need Help?” cards, and took the water to Newport Beach to minister to individuals on the beach. This was a great idea and really helps get the word out about Birth Choice. After all, clients can’t come if they don’t know where we are!

Lastly, our Mission Viejo Clinic got a bit of a face lift when a group of young ladies from Rock Harbor steam cleaned the carpets. It is astounding the difference a day can make. As Birth Choice enters the fall, it is fantastic to work in such clean and refreshed offices. Serve Day is always a benefit to us, and this year might have surpassed them all!
